Homework Week of October 26-30

Dear Students and Parents,

This week we look forward to our costume parade at 12:30 (in the cafeteria) and first holiday party (after parade).

Concepts for the Week:

READING: We are reading both fiction and informational text practicing main idea and detail.
WRITING: Students are finishing typing personal narratives. We began opinion writing, particular focusing on supporting an opinion with adequate facts and examples.
SPELLING: We are studying more vocabulary words with suffixes, this week is the "able" suffix.
MATH: We are studying prime and composite numbers. The core goal is that the students will identify all numbers between 1-100 as prime, composite, or neither (0 and 1). The students are learning strategies that help them to prove a multiple 2-100 is prime or composite.

Homework for the Week (due by Friday this week):

Reading: 120 minutes
Spelling: 3 Spelling Tic Tac Toe activities
Math: My Math Pages 185-188 (sent home today, Tuesday)
